What to Expect

We want you to enjoy the Cahoot’s dining experience to the fullest, so here’s what to expect from us.

The Cahoot’s in-house dining experience is professional, calm, relaxed and fun.

A few pointers to help us achieve the very best service for you:

  • We typically arrive on site no more than 2 hours prior to service

  • It is helpful for us to see the in-house kitchen prior to arrival and photos are helpful for advance planning. Send ‘em over!

  • We generally require nothing more than a fridge, a stovetop and an oven; we bring all our own utensils and kitchen tools

  • Prior to our arrival please ensure there is sufficient clear and clean counter space for food preparation

  • Similarly we do require sufficient refrigerator space for loading in temperature-sensitive food items; if your fridge is full we may not be able to complete service properly!

  • Please ensure there is sufficient capacity in the trash receptacle for us to access during food preparation, and that may mean emptying it before we arrive

  • All of our dishes are loaded out to be cleaned off site

  • All of your dishes can be returned to your kitchen, we do not do these dishes. We’re chefs, not housekeepers

  • We leave no trace: upon completion of the job we load-out and clean up your space to the standard that we received it

  • We generally do not set the table but please ask if you would like assistance with setting plates and utensils

  • We generally do not involve ourselves with tablescaping, decoration, centerpieces or table linens

  • We love to see what guests create for their own table decorations but please remember we still need space to position food on service

  • Bottled water service is available upon request to dinners of 15 guests or less

The Cahoot’s outdoor grilling kitchen setup is entirely self-sufficient, requiring little to no inputs from your site.

For best results we do ask for the following:

  • Approximately 20x20ft of clear, flat and accessible space for grills and canopy tents

  • This space should be mostly level for efficient cooking and clear of debris

  • This space should be situated away from dry brush to minimize fire risk

  • We prefer to avoid situating on concrete decks or other surfaces carrying risk of staining

  • For load-in we require drivable access to this space for our 2WD cargo van

  • This space needs clear and walkable access to your dining area for dinner service

  • Access to running water is useful but not essential

  • Access to power may be useful but not essential

  • We bring our own work tables and work lighting

Our team of skilled and experienced food service professionals care about your space,

and cooking with real fire requires effective management to protect people and property.

  • We leave no trace: upon completion of the job we load-out and clean up your space to the standard that we received it

  • Fires are not possible in all locations - please check with your property manager first. We will not set up near homes or other

flammable structures including trees, brush or vegetation

  • Fires are not possible at all times - we follow all relevant CalFire guidance and warnings for the area and season

  • We carry all necessary safety equipment including fire extinguishers. We never leave fire unattended

  • All fires, embers and coals are fully extinguished and removed safely from site

  • All food waste is disposed of and removed by us from site

  • All of our dishes are loaded out to be cleaned off-site, we generally do not require kitchen access for dishes

  • All of your dishes can be returned to your kitchen, we do not do these dishes

  • Cooking with real grills produces grease or flying embers and so we work hard to protect sensitive surfaces. We will work with you to set up in the most appropriate location

Thank you!
